Hillbilly goes classic.
Double bassist Edgar Meyer is a musical jack-of-all-trades. He is familiar with both Bach and the hillbilly music from the southern highlands of the US. He regularly ropes distinguished classical musicians into helping him with projects in which the American bluegrass is freshened up. Earlier it was violinist Joshua Bell’s turn. This time it is cellist Yo-Yo Ma who accepted the challenge, as can be heard in the ‘Goat Rodeo Sessions.’
