Episode 26 of Tangos Despreciados, a tango programme by Chris Zaal and Richard Frisart. This episode will be about Francisco Canaro’s orchestra, which despite their incredible number of recordings, does not rank among the best tango orchestras.
Francisco Canaro’s orchestra was one of the most successful tango-orchestras in history. Though he was born in poverty, his orchestra earned him a fortune. No other tango-orchestra has recorded as many songs as Canaro: about 3800. On top of that, Canaro composed some 300 songs.
