Composer: Erik Lotichius

Composer Erik Lotichius (1929-2015) chose not to be part of the prevailing atonal avant-garde of his time. Instead, he had his own vision of innovation and inspiration. He found much pleasure in tonal compositions, creating serious works as well as lighter genres such as musicals and chansons. In addition, he accompanied children’s theatre groups. Lotichius also published scholarly music theory works and taught at the Sweelinck Academy. In this Chronicle, we present a small collection of works by this quirky composer.
