Slipped through the mesh

Violinist Jacky Molard’s quartet is inspired by the traditional music from Brittany, but their music is influenced heavily by jazz and other styles from Europe and the Middle East. During a visit to Senegal, they got the idea to do ‘something’ with African musicians, which led to the formation of septet N’Diale. Both formations could be seen at the MusicMeeting in Nijmegen last month.
