The first episode of the On Air – On Site radio art festival podcast series curated for Re.light programme on Concertzender.
In this hour-long slot, we bring you a selection of four radio artworks, each 15 minutes long, which were broadcasted during the 2024 edition of the festival, showcasing the use of voice and spoken words in the radiophonic context. From experimental soundscapes to intimate storytelling, this episode offers a diverse range of audio experiences.

On Air – On Site is a sound investigation of a temporary radio event consisting of a broadcast schedule of 48 hours of non-stop streaming, including live performances, fixed media, live listening sessions, panel talks and radio artworks specifically composed for the festival by an international community of sound artists. The project explores the boundaries of being simultaneously on air in a physical and virtual space, challenging different radio formats. The 2024 edition was held from May 24 until May 26, online, on the FM, and on site at the Institute of Sonology and WEST Den Haag.
