A new series of programmes by Thijs Bonger about Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778-1837) starts on Tuesday 27 January 2015 19:00 – 20:00 CET.
For a long period, Hummel was one of the most famous composers in Europe. Haydn, Schubert, Beethoven, Mozart, Liszt, Spohr, Mendelssohn, Schumann and even Chopin praised his work. Today he is greatly underestimated. In this series, programme-maker and presenter Thijs Bonger looks at his life and makes a selection from his extensive oeuvre.
