Genius Music Friends on Tuesday 4 August 20.00 CET features Masses composed by Haydn.
Haydn is on his way to London. This is a long journey taken in a number of stages. One of his stops is in Bonn. The Prince-elector there is an admirer of Haydn’s music and organises a surprise performance of one of his Masses. The orchestra includes a 20 year-old violist. His name is Ludwig van Beethoven.
The programme includes excerpts from a number of Haydn’s Masses that are now very rarely performed.
