Episode 10: The Sidewinder. In 1963 trumpet player Lee Morgan scored a huge hit for Blue Note with the album “The Sidewinder”. A year later the title song with the same name became the most played jazz single in the American jukeboxes. With the album “Out to lunch” Eric Dolphy was the only avant-garde jazz artist who gained popularity with this label.
