Today’s Music by Today’s Composers

Contemporary music

‘No other composer uses a more personal tone language than Per Nørgård’, said the British composer Julian Anderson (photo) about his Danish mentor. After studying with Alexander Goerh in Cambridge and Tristan Murail in Paris, Anderson learnt the tricks of the trade from Nørgård.

Programme:

Julian Anderson – Diptych, dedicated to Per Nørgård (BBC S.O. conducted by Oliver Knussen)

Tristan Murail – Les courants de l’espace (Orchestra National de France conducted by Yves Prin)

Per Nørgård  – String quartet no. 10 ‘Høsttidløs’ (Kroger Kwartet)
