Bob Dylan in French
(Rerun from 2013)
The new biopic about Bob Dylan generated a lot of attention in France, and not just because Thimothée Chalamet (who is part-French) played the lead. Before Dylan received his Nobel prize, he was admitted to the Légion d’Honneur in 2013. His work got very popular in the 1960s in Hugues Aufray’s translations, with whom he became good friends. Francis Cabrel is also an admirer, and dedicated an entire album to Dylan’s oeuvre in 2012.
Dylan himself sang chansons from Aznavour and Bécaud in English.
