This famous band performed on Thursday April 3, 2025 in the storytelling/music center Mezrab in Amsterdam with its new project l “Tarab Dance” which will be released on record later this year
Afro Anatolian Tales is an innovative musical project led by renowned percussionist Sjahin During, alongside guitarist Bram Stadhouders and cellist Bence Huszar. This dynamic ensemble seamlessly blends ancient ethnic traditions with modern Western music, drawing deeply from the rhythms and melodies of Anatolia, Iran, India, and the legendary Silk Road.
As the core trio of Afro Anatolian Tales, they craft “a musical bridge of sounds between the Orient and Occident,” exploring diverse formations and soundscapes. Their music transcends traditional genre boundaries, weaving Eastern and Western influences into a vibrant, ever- evolving, and cinematic tapestry
For the project “Tarab Dance” Turkish musician Burak Savaş was recruited, whose soulful voice and violin playing effortlessly blends in with the enchanting sounds of the other musicians.
