Episode 1388. This week is Mass week. We’ll have five episodes filled with the four ‘Missae Breves’ from J.S. Bach, the project “Bach im Fluss” from Rudolf Lutz, and a wonderful new recording of the ‘Hohe Messe’. Today: “Bach im Fluss” from Rudolf Lutz.
The programme “Bach im Fluss” (Bach and the river of time) originates in the annual “Wort & Klang” concerts, that had the theme “Strömungen” (currents) in 2011. It was also part of the 25-year project of the J.S. Bach-Stiftung to perform and record the entire vocal body of Johann Sebastian Bach’s work.
In 2011, it was performed live in the great halls of the ‘Sitterwerk’, a former textile dye factory in Swiss St. Gallen.
