The Piano Studio

wed 14 may 2025 11:00 hrs
Composer: Frédéric Chopin

In this episode of The Piano Studio, Willem Brons and Pauline Verburg discuss music by Mozart and Chopin. Willem Brons plays both works live in the studio.

Today, you will first hear the sonata in C minor, KV 457 by Mozart. Willem Brons calls this sonata “dramatic” and in this episode, you will hear exactly why.

Afterwards, you can listen to the Barcarolle in F-sharp major, opus 60 by Chopin. “Refined harmonies” are a typical feature of this late composition by Chopin, according to Willem Brons.
