Spanish King Alfonso el Sabio provided the publication of homages to the Virgin Mary in the 13th century, the “Cantigas de Santa Maria”. Some of these, he would have written himself.
Also much attention this time for JeanTubéry and his ensemble La Fenice. Dances by Praetorius, Italian songs and sonatas, and, as icing on the cake, the flawless voice of French countertenor Philippe Jaroussky.
