Producer and host Thijs Bonger continues his search through the life and works of Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778-1837). Today Part XIII.
We ended up in the year 1814 on Hummel’s timeline. He married Elisabeth Röckel, a beautiful and successful opera singer, with whom more men were in love. And one not unknown colleague especially.
In this thirteenth episode of "Second Chance for Hummel" we will reveal who that was.He also met the Italian guitarist Mauro Giuliani, who played enchantingly beautiful and who fled the dictatorship of opera in Italy. Hummel writes happy light music for him, in which the guitar can shine.
Influenced by his wife Hummel performs more and more, and he writes chamber music. For example a piano trio full of catchy virtuosity.
