Michael Baird is not only a drummer, but also an avid collector of authentic African music, especially that from his native Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). Michel has made many field recordings in Africa, travelling through remote corners of Africa, with a shotgun microphone in one hand and a digital recorder in the other. He released these recordings on his own label, SWP Records.
Ton Maas interviews him about his musical sources of inspiration through several tracks, selected by Michael.
