In An Early Evening Stroll, we afford another glance behind the scenes of the Late Romantic composer Wilhelm Berger (1861-1911). During his lifetime, he was rather famous, also internationally. But, after the horrors of World War I, suddenly his Late Romantic music was no longer called for.
We hear a sizable Brahms-like piano quintet, and a part from a cheerful serenade for wind instruments.
