Alexander Alabiev II
This is the second of two programmes about the Russian composer Alexander Alexandrovich Alabiev, also know as Alexander Alyabiev. He lived from 1787 to 1851 and is considered, beside Michail Glinka, as one of the ‘fathers of Russian classical music’. In this hour, you hear mainly orchestral music of Alabiev, but also two chamber music works.
