Paul Dukas – more than just the The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
Paul Dukas (1865-1936) is really only known for his 1897 orchestral piece L’apprenti sorcier (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice). He was very critical as a composer and destroyed much of his work. In several genres he eventually published only one work, including a piano sonata in 1899/1900. You will hear that one today.
