The festival theme of 2013 was @Europa, with plenty of attention for 4 composers: Ciconia, Lassus, Froberger and Muffat.
On 31 August 2013 Vox Luminis performed and 3 days earlier lute player Hopkinson Smith.

A) In the concert by Vox Luminis the versatility of Roland de Lassus resounds, also known as Orlando di Lasso. Among the worldly works by Frenchman Roland de Lassus and Italian Orlando di Lasso are gems such as dirty popular songs.
The 11 singers of Vox Luminis are assisted by Masato Suzuki on organ and harpsichord and lute player Jurgen De bruyn.

B) World famous lute player and early music pioneer Hopkinson Smith was at the Early Music Festival 2013 in Utrecht for a night concert, and he played in the programme ‘Dowlands Europa’ music by Robert Ballard, G. G. Kapsberger and of course John Dowland.
