Africa Festival Hertme 2014: singer/ guitar player Teta from Madagascar.
On Sunday afternoon July 6, the Africa Festival Hertme 2014 opened with a concert of singer/guitar player Teta from Madagascar.
He was accompanied by Kira – also from Madagascar – by guitar and vocals. Teta comes from a village close to Tulear in the southern part of Madagascar. In a musical family he grew up with the rapid 6/8 rhythm of the traditional music style Tsapiky. In 2003 he received international attention when two of his songs were added to the Tulear Never Sleeps compilation album. This album was published by Stern and gave the music style Tsapiky international publicity.
In the years after Teta often played with guitar virtuoso D’Gary, before recording his two solo albums.
