Koddsi has a Moroccan gnawa background; he uses silences between sounds which leads to very stylish and superior music. Gnawa is hypnotic trance music and is also used in ways of healing. The music is from the West-Sahel region and is especially played in North Africa, particularly Morocco and Algeria.
During this concert, he is accompanied by Moulay Sherif, mandolin and santir, Abdel Hak Rahal on violin and banjo and Asis Khodari, percussion.
