The Source of Sound involves the material, the movement and the vibration of which music arises. By Fred Gales.
Source of Sound 15. Eritrea – Djibouti
After West Papua, the next place on the world map of music the Source of Sound visits is Eritrea and nearby Djibouti. The thirty-year war before the country became independent in 1991 wasn’t only the bloodiest low point of the 20th century, but also still controls the large part of the country’s politics and culture. The music is also scarred and Eritrea has the most compelling fight and patriotic songs.
