Dave Holland / Chris Potter Quartet at the Monterey Jazz Festival 2007.
In 1958, the first jazz festival in Monterey was hosted by saxophonist Jimmy Lyons and jazz critic Ralph Gleason. For the 50th edition of the festival, bassist Dave Holland and saxophonist Chris Potter had invited two special guests: Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba and drummer Eric Harland. The performance of this star ensemble has been recorded and immortalised. Today, we will be listening to about an hour of the recorded music. All four musicians contributed two compositions.
