Terry Riley In C
Today in Contemporary Music, we give attention to Terry Riley’s major work: In C. It is the composition which made Riley’s name as a contemporary composer in 1964, and, for that matter, as cult figure on the west coast of the US. This work is also the first minimalist composition which obtained a large audience. We hear three totally different versions of the famous piece.
