‘La jeune France’ was an ensemble that included composers Olivier Messiaen and André Jolivet. The ensemble was founded in 1936 and opposed the French music of the time.
According to the composers, it was far too abstract. They wanted to bring human emotions back into music. They all did so in their own way. Today three composers who had joined the company: André Jolivet (1905-1974), Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992) and Daniel Lesur (1908-2002).
