An educational programme with early music. A short musical portrait of cornettist Jean Tubéry; with a recording of a concert that Tubéry recently performed in Baarn.
After learning how to play the recorder in Amsterdam, Jean Tubéry studied the cornetto at Bruce Dickey in Basel. Fascinated by 17th-century Italian music, he founded his ensemble La Fenice in 1990.
This ensemble provided a career boost for musicians and singers who would later gain fame in the world of early music, such as Maria Cristina Kiehr, Christina Pluhar and Philippe Jaroussky.
