#292. Independent sound art, radiophonic projects and other audio non-visual misunderstandings and findings. Frans De Waard and Sindre Bjerga. Field Recordings from Mars. (the planet).
1. An Index Of Field Recordings.
by Sindre Bjerga & Frans de Waard.
In 1976 the Viking 2 expedition left for the planet Mars and five years Sindre Bjerga and Frans de Waard, collectively known as Tech Riders, started their missing to index, catalogue and comment field recordings made from various locations on the planet Mars. They collected a whole bunch from various locations and felt they were in their element until one day there was an unexpected sighting. It shook up their meticulous way of working and set them off the record. Things weren’t go wrong, but they got distracted. Did they succeed in their mission? Listen and find out.
Frans de Waard founded Kapotte Muziek in 1984 and has played with Beequeen, Freiband, Modelbau, QST, The Tobacconists, Goem, Ezdanitoff and with Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) and endless list of other people. He also publishes Vital Weekly, the oldest online source for experimental music. Sindre Bjerga Cassette player drones and kitchen sink psychedelia, sound ghosts hidden deep in the molten magnetic tapes.. always aiming for that mind-altering head trip…
