Conductor, composer and piano player Duke Ellington (1899-1974) part 37. In 1971 he recorded the 8 part suite, world music with a non-traditional, non-western character. In 1972 Ellington went into the studio as piano player together with bass player Ray Brown for the album This One’s For Blanton, a tribute to Jimmy Blanton who was a pioneer on the double bass.
