Orchestra leader, composer and piano player Duke Ellington (1899-1974) part 39. Today his collaboration with 2 influential tenor saxophone players: Coleman Hawkins and John Coltrane. Quartet, quintet and octet recordings from 1962 in which Ellington can be heard as composer, piano player and leader of an especially composed octet with Hawkins.
