Orchestra leader, composer and pianist Duke Ellington (1899-1974) part 46. Today Such Sweet Thunder, a 12-part suite based on plays and sonnets of William Shakespeare, recorded by the Ellington orchestra in 1957. The suite was commissioned by the Shakespeare Festival, which is held annually in Ontario, Canada.
