Conductor, composer and pianist Duke Elington (1899-1974). In this hour Ellington’s tribute to music city New Orleans, the ‘New Orleans Suite’, which he composed in 1970 by order of the New Orleans Jazz festival. Afterwards 3 parts from the Strayhorn-Ellington arrangement of Grieg’s ‘Peer Gynt Suite’.
