Conductor, composer and pianist Duke Ellington (1899-1974) part 134. In DUKE ELLINGTON today: the Ellington orchestra in a unique session from 1 May 1962, with tenor saxophone player Paul Gonsalves as the only soloist in all songs. In addition to this, two concert recordings that serve as extra illustrations of his great talent: as a sublime ballad player and as a hard swinging and creative improvisor.
