Electronic Frequencies #10. In deze aflevering staat de Fairlight Synthesizer centraal.
Intro: Electronic Frequencies.
01. Element: Koolstof. (7852 spectral lines).
from: Pieter Suurmond’s nanotone sample library (Atomic spectra sonified).
(Electromagnetic spectra of atoms and ions, ranging from deep infrared up to far ultraviolet, were transposed exactly 40 octaves down to make them audible).
02. Zafka: "When HongKong Harbours London" (2006). From the compilation "Contemporary Chinese Experimental Music" (UBUWeb, 2007).
03. Fairlight CMI demo tape No1, side A, part 2 & side B. (+/- 1980). 2nd part of the first demo tape of the first digital sample synthesizer. More than 30 years old, the Fairlight lives on in the form of an iPad app.
04. Jorrit Tamminga: "Het Gordijn van Pythagoras". (2009). Choir and live electronics.
05. Peter Vogel "Kleines Fünfstimmiges Minimal Music Object". I found this piece, and this composer, on the internet when I was searching for info on the inventor of the Fairlight Synthesizer, who is also called Peter Vogel. They are not the same person.
Outro: Levnet members: Rainbow in Curved Ether. 22 mensen die op verzoek tot 5 minuten 1 toon aanhielden op een theremin. Opgenomen door de deelnemers zelf, ergens in februari 2010.
