Softwerk.
This edition of Electronic Frequencies is entirely devoted to Kraftwerk, the legendary German electronic band. With iconic hits like ‘Autobahn’, ‘The Robots’ and ‘The Model’, this pioneering group, which has been around for 54 years and still tours worldwide, has forever changed the history of music. Their innovative sound laid the foundation for later genres such as electropop, house and techno.
While Kraftwerk is known for their compelling rhythms and characteristic electronic sounds, this episode reveals a surprisingly different side of the band. Our curator, a devoted Kraftwerk enthusiast, has selected an hour of their most serene compositions and soundscapes. In addition to tracks from officially released albums, he also presents unique material, such as background music from the navigation menus of Kraftwerk’s website over the years and commissioned sound logos – a special musical journey through the band’s digital archive.
