Beste!Unterhaltung, Nordic Notes and CPL are three labels, founded by German music lover Christian Pliefke. His preference for Scandinavian music is pretty obvious. All the same the labels have a broad supply and aren’t limited to just productions from those areas. An Irish top band, British and even an American singer songwriter. English and German bands. This variation does also apply to the content of the CDs. From traditional folk to pop, from singer songwriter to neo folk, pop folk or whatever label we would like to stick on it.
And that’s just the thing which doesn’t appeal to Pliefke: it is not about pigeon-holes but about perception, quality, creativity and individuality. Besides he leaves a large artistic responsibility and freedom with the bands which he gives a chance to release their own material which they fully support themselves. Independent with a modern look.
