The white American pianist Dick Twardzik (1931-1955) is considered by many to be a genius who died too young. From the late 1940s, colleagues considered him to be an avant-gardist within the stylistic notions of that time. Towards the end of his life, he shortly was a member of the quartet of trumpet player Chet Baker. Today, trio recordings from 1954.
