Kairos. A meditation on contemporary music. With Howard Skempton, Canadian singer Bruce Cockburn and a short work by Gerard Kockelmans. And Ulfur, Juliana Barwick, Silmus, Tin Hat, Jesse Mac Cormack and Ries de Vuyst and Gé Reinders among others. And somewhere in the programme you can listen to a poem by Rosalie Lucas. She won first prize with this poem in the Park Meander poetry competition 2015. For you we can hopefully stop time again for an hour.
Today, Kairos opens with one of Howard Skempton’s brilliant piano miniatures, beautifully modestly played by John Tilbury. Thanks to Rob du Rieu, who provided the CD from his own collection, you can listen to a song by Canadian singer Bruce Cockburn. You will also listen to a short work by
Gerard Kockelmans, played on the piano by composer and pianist Arno Dieteren. On 29 December 2015 we had broadcast a special episode of our programme ‘The Last Century’ that was completely dedicated to the works by Gerard Kockelmans.
And music by Ulfur, Juliana Barwick, Silmus, Tin Hat, Jesse Mac Cormack and Ries de Vuyst among others. For listeners who understand Limburgs dialect and/or love blaosmeziek, we will close the programme with a sensitive song from Limburg by Gé Reinders.
And somewhere in the programme you can listen to a short poem by Rosalie Lucas. She won first prize with this poem in the Park Meander poetry competition 2015.
We will stop time, for an hour, for you!
