1981: The decade gets off to a good start, with quite a few interesting productions. Karlheinz Stockhausen begins his second part of the opera cycle ‘Light’, and Prokofiev’s one-acter ‘Maddalena’ is finally premiered, while Dmitri Shostakovich’s opera ‘The gambler’, completed by Krzysztof Meyer also makes its debut. There are some little gems to discover as well.
