The history of twentieth century opera.
When compared to previous years, 1997 can be characterised as a year with less new opera productions. However, there are two excellent new works by the American composer Mark-Anthony Turnage. Consequently, one episode is dedicated to his compositions.
Furthermore, some works by lesser-known composers of which few recordings could be found.
