Traditional music from Iran & India by Keyvan Chemirani & Anindo Chatterjee.
Keyvan Chemirani continues his journey through musical cultures by associating his Iranian percussion with Indian tablas by Anindo Chatterjee. The two musical cultures have maintained close ties for centuries, with exchanges reaching their peak 400 years ago when the greatest Persian and Hindu musicians traveled to perform in the courts of the Shah and Mughals. For example, Persian expressions have left many traces in today’s Indian classical music.
