China: with the duo Guo Gan & Emre Gültekin | the group Lost in China | and the rocker Qetiq. Produced by Cobie Ivens.

Guo Gan & Emre Gültekin.
Two musicians, one from China, the other from Turkey, join forces at Lune de Jade. It is an unlikely combination but in practice it produces fascinating music.
Guo Gan, the Chinese musician plays the erhu, a stringed instrument with only two strings, which is played on your lap.
Emre Gültekin, his Turkish colleague, masters a number of stringed instruments from the Middle East belonging to the lute family and occasionally plays percussion.

Lost in China.
This album celebrates the diversity of today’s Chinese music scene, from the urban chaos of Beijing to the deserts of Xinjiang. Lost in China represents a new generation of artists, united by their desire to explore and often surpass local music traditions.
All these musicians have never crossed the borders of the country and these recordings allow us to discover a scene full of talents eager to share their folklore.
CD. Lost in China : Off the beaten track from Beijing to Xinjiang. LABEL: Riverboat Records (2017), code: TUGCD1098.

A group from Xinjiang that performs compositions, but mainly traditional Uyghur and Kazakh melodies in a rock atmosphere, with electric guitars but also some traditional instruments.
Some of Qetiq’s songs are his own compositions, but there are also transcriptions of traditional Kazakh and Uighur music, such as Dolan Muqam, ancient music from the deserts of Xinjiang.
