A musical serial. Episode 49: Delia Derbyshire’s 80th birthday.
Delia Derbyshire would have turned 80 this may 5th, if she were still among us. She worked for the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in the early 60’s, and gained instant fame with her work on the Dr Who theme. But there`s more to her repertoire than just these brilliant, upbeat themes. The full breadth of her work shows how incredibly talented this remarkable woman was. In this episode we take a full hour to pay homage to one of the goddesses of early electronic music, and celebrate her 80th birthday.
