American soprano Dawn Upshaw’s career has shown an incredible versatility. She sung countless recitals, with songs from Monteverdi to John Adams, and shined in operas from Mozart to Messiaen. She also won five Grammy Awards for recordings of mainly unknown repertoire. She is most well-known for her performance of the Symphony of Sorrowful Songs from Henryk Górecki, the recording of which sold millions of copies.
