In this hour we pay attention to the music of Avital Raz, Marika Hackman, Skator and the Alin Coen Band a.o.
We pay special attention to Anaïs Mitchell.
She was born in 1981, in Vermont, the United States.
Her biggest project thusfar is the folk opera Hadestown from 2010. A project on which she had worked for years.
In 2012 she founded her own label: Wilderland Records and on it appears the CD: Young Man in America.
In 2014 Xoa is released, on which she brings a lot of earlier work in an acoustic way. Her talent is still developing. The magazine ‘Acoustic Guitar’ calls her texts and music ‘fearlessly emotive’ and compares her with Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen.
