The Early Garden

sun 3 mar 2013 15:00 hrs

Browsing through early music for two hours. Music by Philipp Heinrich Erlebach (1657-1714).

Philipp Heinrich Erlebach was one of the most prominent composers of his time.
He was mainly known for his church music, and for the hundreds of cantatas that he wrote. Unfortunately, only a few dozen of those were passed on, of which only a few have been recorded on CD.
In this programme you will hear four of these cantatas, alternated with some of Erlebach’s other works.
