Jazz, blues and nostalgia.
Featuring the remarkable ‘Heartaches’ of band leader Ted Weems, recorded in 1933 and 1947 which suddenly became a big success. The band leader rapidly re-established his earlier dissolved orchestra to get a piece of the pie; a nice series of recordings of Doris Day who recently turned 91, trumpet player Blue Mitchell, Hildegard Knef with a German version of the branded version of Peggy Lee’s ‘Is that all there is’, the Sefardic Jewish Yasmin Levy, whose singing makes your tears almost dripping off the wall, Les Brown’s big band and blues and jazz guitar player Jeff Healey who died way too young.
