Episode 6 – The Source of Sound is about the matter, the movement and the vibration from which music is created. Tonight the first of two parts about strings and tension.
In The Source of Sound string are central this month. Without tension ropes and strings would hardly make a sound, but when there is tension you can make an almost indefinite amount of sounds by picking, plucking, rubbing or striking them. It is the source of sound for a kaleidoscope of musical instruments of which you will hear the best and most unique during this program. Music from all parts of the world, in this first part music from Asia.
