1925 – A productive year for Ottorino Respighi.
Which music was composed exactly a century ago? Today, another episode in this long-running series.
1925 was a productive year for Italian Ottorino Respighi, at the time 46-years old. His international fame was also increasing, partly due to the success of the symphonic poem Pini di Roma he wrote the year before. Apart from that, he frequently performed abroad as a conductor of his own compositions and as a soloist in his own piano pieces. This hour, you will hear four compositions in different genres.
