In Memoriam Bob Gilmore (1961-2015).
The north-Irish musicologist and musician Bob Gilmore passed away early January at the age of 53. A passionate advocate of experimental, microtonal music in the Netherlands and abroad.
Gilmore was also an impassioned writer about various composers and outsiders like Ben Johnston, Harry Partch and recently Claude Vivier. As a keyboard player Gilmore was active with his own microtonal ensemble Trio Scordatura.
In this Theme episode you will hear music by Gilmore’s favourite composers. Besides that Trio Scordatura will play pieces by the Dutch composer Peter Adriaansz and American Al Margolis alias If, Bwana.
